1- ACTUALLY, HOW DO LED LIGHTS WORK?
LED is a highly efficient source of light energy. For its acronym: Lighting Emitting Diodes
Diodes are capable of generating light 50 times more than the old light sources: incandescent or halogen
The light produced by the diode comes through the activity generated by the electrons, stimulated by the negative voltage that comes across the semiconductors.
In simpler words: an LED is a chemical chip inside a plastic capsule.
2- WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM WITH THE LED LIGHTS?
The most common problems with LED lighting and how do LED lights work and perform are caused by its misuse, rather than by technology per se.
The incorrect use of color temperature in spaces can affect the way the brain interprets that light, thus changing the expected mood.
For example, if a room is intended and designed for relaxation, but has a white light color temperature, sleep and relaxation may be affected.
Similarly, the incorrect technical selection of the amount of lumens for a given space can generate visual discomfort.
Also, incorrect technical handling and installation of LED lights can affect its durability over time and its performance, causing flickering, glare and even early permanent damage to the lights.
3- CAN LED LIGHTS BE LEFT ON 24/7?
As long as the selection of the LED lights is appropriate for the space where they will be placed, there is a correct heat sink of the LED and the appropriate transformer or driver is used, then the LED lights can be left on 24 hours a day.
However, any source of electrical energy is a finite resource and we do not recommend wasting it.
Similarly, there are countless LED strip lights on the market that are not of the best quality and are sold without any type of appropriate indication for their uses or forms of installation.
If an LED strip is installed outside of an LED aluminum channel, you must be sure that its heat sink is optimal, otherwise the LED strip lights will shorter lifespan than it should and there will be other risks when leaving it on for long periods of time.
4- CAN LED LIGHTS CATCH FIRE?
This is quite unlikely to happen.
Incandescent bulbs generate light by burning their internal filament. This is why they can be at risk of catching fire.
But the how do LED light work is completely different. In the case of the LED, the light is generated through a chemical reaction in the Diode, therefore, there is no heat emission.
However, the LED does have some heat emission internally. If this internal heat is not dissipated correctly, not only will the LED burn out, but there could be a fire hazard.
This is why a professional LED strip of light with a light emission above 800lm / w must always be installed inside an LED aluminum channel for LED lights, in order to guarantee correct heat dissipation.
5- CAN THE LED LIGHTS BE TURNED ON AND OFF FREQUENTLY?
Without a doubt, this is a great advantage of LED technology.
There is no problem in frequently turning the LED lights on and off. Your internal circuit and system will not be affected.
Unlike halogen or incandescent lights, LED lights have a circuit design to handle frequent switching on and off, so when they’re turned on, they will reach their maximum brightness immediately without needing to “warm up”
6- ARE LED LIGHTS BRIGHTER?

9- CAN LED LIGHTS BE HARMFUL TO THE SKIN?
Incandescent light produces a certain amount of UV radiation that activates melanin in the skin, which can generate long-term darkening of the skin and possible adverse effects on its health.
LED lights, on the other hand, have been shown to have multiple benefits for the skin.
According to a publication made by students of Chemical Engineering at Stony Brook University, LED lights could take the healing position for the skin of some lasers, because through the exposure of LED light to human cells, they demonstrated activity and growth, generating tissue healing and new tissue.

10- DEPENDING ON HOW DO LED LIGHT WORK, CAN LED LIGHTS BE DIMMED?
There are LED lights that are dimmable, however, not all of them can be.
LED strip lights are dimmable as long as their installation allows it. The dimming does not depend on the LED strip but on its driver or power supply.
However, as lighting designers, we frequently ask our clients the question: why dimmerize LED strip lights if you can decide in advance the amount of light and appropriate color temperature for the purposes of the space?
