LED CRI: WHAT IS IT IN THE LED LIGHTING WORLD
LED CRI stands for “Color Rendering Index” and serve to measure the FAITHFUL reproduction of colors when they are under artificial light.
The starting point used to make the comparison is the source of sunlight in its most natural moment: noon, which is LED CRI 100 in the faithful reproduction of colors.

HOW ARE LED CRI VALUES MEASURED?

The LED CRI has values ranging from 0 to 100, with 0 being the lowest value and 100 the highest value indicating the highest precision of the reflected color.
In other words, the higher the LED CRI the reproduction of the colors will be more accurate as if it were to see what we have around us like an HD TV, with true colors and without distortions.
WHEN IS IT IMPORTANT?
If you are wondering why the LED CRI is so important, we are going to give you 2 very valuable reasons:
First of all: you will see all the real colors of things, as if it were a movie on an HD TV. You will not have distortions and believe it or not, this will help your mood. There is nothing that influences our mood more than seeing the things around us clearly.
Second: for commercial or professional reasons where it’s NECESSARY AND FUNDAMENTAL to perceive the real colors of things.
Here are some examples in which it is ideal to have a very high LED CRI:
- In a beauty salon, it is essential that workers see the real color of their clients’ hair. Imagine a light with a low LED CRI and the effect it can have on tints and colorations?
- In a fabric store, where people need to choose the product precisely because of the color.
- In a paint store or any pigment store.
- In a clothing store, regardless of style. The colors customers see must be the actual colors of the pieces.
- In a store where there are tapestries. Example, furniture store, chairs.
- In an art gallery.
- In a doctor’s office. Can you imagine a doctor working with a color distortion?
- In a grocery store, a restaurant, a florist, a meat shop, etc.

CRI: HOW IT AFFECTS COLOR TEMPERATURE
The LED CRI and the color temperature of any LED lights are unrelated and don’t affect each other.
You can choose any LED strip lights in any color temperature ranging from 1800K to 7000K (or more) and have different types of LED CRI.
If it is high you will see the real colors of things regardless of the color temperature of the LED lights.
In this collection you can find different types of LED strips classified by their color temperature.

SYNONYM OF PROFESSIONAL LED STRIP LIGHTS
Today most professional LED strip lights have a LED CRI 80. This is a fairly accurate reproduction of colors but NOT PERFECT.
Here are some examples where LED CRI 80 can be used without any problem:
- Rooms of a house.
- Hotel rooms.
- Corridors or circulation places.
- Offices.
- Travel agencies.
- Post offices.
- Meeting room.
- Spaces to teach.
- Customer service offices.
- newsstands, kiosks, etc.
It is also true that a LED CRI 80 is perfect for spaces where an exact and reliable reproduction of colors is not required. Also, they are always a little cheaper.
Higher LED CRIs like CRI90 or CRI95 already belong to professional and very specific LED strip lights.
Its price is usually a little higher than CRI80 because they are considered PRO LED lights for very specific uses
