LET'S GO DEEP: WHAT IS LED LIGHTING?
LED, for its acronym in English, stands for: Light Emitting Diodes.
Diodes are components within electronic circuits, where current typically flows in only one direction: from anode to cathode.
Diodes are made from semi-conductive materials, such as Silicone or Selenium.
Unlike incandescent bulbs, in LED lighting there are no internal filaments that burn out. In other words, there’s no external heat emission.
LED turns on solely by the movement of electrons within the semiconductor material. And this is what is led lighting means: fast electronic light.
By semi-conductor material we mean that electricity will be conducted under some conditions and not others. For example: with certain voltages or light intensities.
WHY DOES IT HELP TO KNOW WHAT IS LED LIGHTING FOR INSTALLATION?
As we said previously, the electricity that reaches the diode will come from the power source connecting the anode with the positive and the cathode with the negative.
As in LED lighting electricity flows in only one direction, if these polarities are reversed, the electricity will not flow, therefore there will be no emission of light. Remember here, the previous concept of what is LED lighting.
There might even be some current flow, at least up to the point where there is a reverse voltage spike. If it comes to this, the LED lights will have irreversible damage, ergo “burnout”

LED HOME LIGHTING: SO, DO I USE REPLACEMENT LED BULBS?
LED lighting generally uses heat sinks to prevent LEDs from overheating and burning.
In fact, internal heat management will be the single most important factor in ensuring the promised longevity of LED technology.
An LED strip lights for home with proper heat dissipation, is what is allowing LED lighting to have a life of up to 50,000 hours of use.
LED products use a variety of designs to manage their internal heat.

WHAT IS LED LIGHTING DOING FOR MY HOME TODAY?
LED lighting has multiple advantages.
Obviously and as would be our first thought, its main advantage is the hours of use as we have said previously.

Another major advantage of what is LED lighting today is its efficiency.
In traditional incandescent bulbs, the production of light involves heat generated through the burning of the internal filament.
This is a waste of energy, unless the lamp is used as a heat generator resulting in light, and not the other way around.
Unfortunately, this heat energy dissipated by incandescent bulbs is widely dissipated in the environment, being highly polluting.

For every watt, LED lights produce more Lumens (visible amount of light) than a traditional incandescent bulb.

To put it in simple words: while a 60w incandescent bulb produces 750-900 lumens, you can obtain the same amount of lumens with LED lights with only 6-8 watts
And that same LED light will last for about 50,000 hours while an incandescent bulb, at its best, will last 1,200 hours.
WHAT IS LED LIGHTING DISADVANTAGE? IS IT THAT IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE?
Although an LED strip and its installation is much more expensive initially, the savings in the medium and long term can cost up to $ 44 billion annually in the total cost of the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
Effectively installing LED lighting is an expensive process, while LED light strips, cables, connectors, profiles, etc. may seem to raise costs, with LED strips lights and Led lighting in general, you will use fewer points of electricity.
